If you live in a temporary home (apt, dorm, rented home) then you are probably cautious about the way you decorate your home. I live in an apartment myself, I'm constantly tempted by permanent features to incorporate into my home but know it isn't my "forever" home. However, you don't have to make permanent changes to update your temporary home.

I'm a big fan of wall stickers. Not only do they add a ton of personality to any room, they are unique and super easy to install. Unlike nail holes, they don't damage your walls plus they are super cheap! Who can say not to that?

Another money busting home update is adding small accessories such as wall hangings or candle holders. You wouldn't believe how much pizzazz they add. Cheap Sports Bras!

Who doesn't love neon colored sports bras? I know I do! If I am going to take the time to work out, I want to look cute while doing it (haha). But seriously  Am I the only girl that thinks this way? Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those girls that look perfect and never sweat at the gym. I'm the girl busting her a** sweating in order to gain that tight body but I do love my cute work out clothes.

I was looking at Target online, of course, and saw these C9 sports bras, all styles and colors, on sale for only $12.00 each! I love this bargain deal and plan on stocking up. I love the thick strapped bras for working out in and the skinnier strap bras for nightly and weekend wear. Here is my problem...how do you decide what color you will get?!

This past weekend my bestie and I "went to lunch" and ended up at the Mall of America. (oops) If you haven't been to the Mall of America before you should really make the trip. I have the luxury of making continuous visits because I live in MN, but if your out of state the traveling is worth it! If you love Forever 21, like I do, you should really make the trip. The Mall of America Forever 21 is the best I have seen. They have just remodeled it into two levels and about tripled the size. I could spend hours in there and still not see everything.

What I love about Forever 21 is how cheap it is. Yes, some things are poor quality but I have had pretty good luck there quality wise, but I'm pretty easy on my clothing. I bought 2 chunky sweaters, 2 "flowy tops" and a mint green body hugging dress. I fell in love the minute I saw it and knew I just had to have it.

Heres the thing about the mint green dress, I have no where to wear it! Does that happen to you? I find a piece of clothing I have to have and then end up wearing it once or not at all. But, I knew in two weeks my boyfriend and I are going on a little getaway. I'm super excited because I feel like he may propose to me, eeeek! We have been pretty serious and have looked at ornate engagement rings together. I have showed him what I like and he has been acting kind of weird lately. I have a feeling it's coming soon so I want to look good when it happens in my mint green dress (hehehe).

Cheap Storage Solution

I almost forget myself that I'm still a college student and am always on a tight budget. I literally don't have the money, nor would I want to, go buy everything (where is the fun in that?) I found myself wondering around Hobby Lobby (shocker) when I found these baskets, another obsession of mine we will get into another day, and just had to have them. I decided on using them for my winter accessory storage but still didn't exactly have in mind what I would do. I wanted to get cute hooks to hang them on but I don't have a screw gun so that was out of the cards. Instead I bought 5lb 3M hooks in a silver finish. I have a small section of a wall right next to the front door that was the perfect fit for these baskets. I was a little skeptical about the 3M hooks holding up but they have done the job. It is now about 2 months later and they are still hanging just as perfect as the day I put them there. This really is a nice storage solution if you don't have much space and it's nice to look at.

Cut the Gym Out of Your Budget

Going along with my healthy habit theme I decided to share some awesome work out videos. Like most of the population, I have decided to start working out in the new year. My goal was to get a gym membership because I knew that if I was forced to pay a monthly fee that I would make it a habit to go in and utilize the membership. However, after doing some research I realized just how expensive those memberships really are! I mean I'm not the type to go workout every single day, because then it would be worth the money. I decided I have self motivation to get the workouts in at home I just need proper instruction and a fitness plan.

Instead of paying $40-100 for a monthly gym membership I decided to opt out for intense at home work out sessions. I discovered these 10-12 minute videos that burn calories and blast up my heart rate. Who needs a gym when you can get the job done in the comfort of your own home? These 10-12 minute videos are very intense and made me super sore! I have only been doing them for about a week and have noticed I have a higher tolerance for the workouts. I shared my favorite one with you, and boy does it make your abs sore!

Eat Clean On a Budget

I don't know about you but mornings for me are not pleasant. Until I have had at least 2 cups of coffee I don't speak. I need my own time to really wake up and become aware of my surroundings. With the new year I am trying to adopt some healthier habits, and on a budget of course. Breakfast for me needs to be quick, easy, cheap and yummy. I usually eat my breakfast on-the-go like most of the population so something that can be eaten quickly and will keep me full for a few hours. 

This morning I stepped out of my comfort zone of cereal and combined peanut butter, bananas, blueberries and wrapped it in a tortilla. This was not only super easy, but it included ingredients I usually have on hand. It was super good, quick, and cheap. Not exactly the easiest thing to eat in the car, but it was good! I will keep this in my regular routine morning breakfasts.

My husband and I had a hard time finding the right wedding rings for us.  Everywhere we went we just weren't finding rings that were just perfect for us.  All of the jewelers we were going to just didn't seem to care as much as we were hoping. I got that taste of pampering, and now I want it all of the time.  I seriously have never felt so relaxed in my life.

I really like that I can chose what kind of massage I can get because a massage can really help an injury sometimes.

We went and looked at Orange County jewelry for a whole day, just me and my husband. It was a fun day together, just me and him all day. He's normally working all the time and when he is home, I have to leave for business. It's rare to spend an entire day together, but when we do we take as much advantage of it as we can.

For my birthday we always go out and I pick out a few pieces of jewelry that I like, then later he will go pick the one out that he likes the best and will give it to me. I wanted a new bracelet, and I'm not a big fan of flashy jewelry. I had it narrowed down to two bracelets, and they were equally gorgeous and I loved them both. When we went out to eat that night, he showed me which one he picked out and it was this gorgeous, white gold bracelet with Sapphires in them. I was so excited and it's my favorite piece yet. It can go with anything and it is so subtle yet there and eye catching. I really like it and was happy with his choice.

I take my computer everywhere with me, so i've been thinking its time to protect my computer more. Clean Computer

It's never to late or early to start your spring cleaning, however you would like to look at it! As your searching the web do you notice that your keys are pretty dirty? It's time to clean them and make them spicka nd span! Make sure before you start cleaning it you turn it off and unplug your computer. Apply a mirco fiber cloth to your keys  if that doesn't do the job a damp lint free cloth will! Feel free to clean your cover or outside of your computer with a magic eraser! After all is said and done, it should be squeeky clean!

Tree Nails

 

Halloween is over now and its time for the holiday spirit to begin! I don't want to spend a lot of money to get a manicure at the salon when I could do it at home! Here's an easy way to make a christmas tree or any design your wish on your nails. Grab some tape and cut two small strips and palce them on your finger nail like a big triangle. Then cut four strips of tape into a triangle shape and place them on the sides to make the shape of a tree. Paint the whole nail green, and wait until it has dried to remove the tape. Make sure do decorate your tree if you want to!

I found this idea on pinterest. It is a sufficient way to dry your laundry and not have it taking up a whole bunch of floor space. New Ice Tray

Just the other day I was trying to get an ice cube out of one of my plastic ice trays and bent my finger nail back in the process! It hurt super bad and I needed to find an easier way to get ice cubes. This new ice tray is very handy! You don't have to worry about forcing the ice to come out, they fall out much easier when they are in this new tray I bought! I would check the local stores around you and online! I'm stalking up as much as I can before there aren't many left.

Night Light Wine Bottle

I love having cool light fixtures around my house. This is a super fun DIY that looks great as a decoration. If you have an empty bottle of wine sitting around your house this is the perfect way to make use of it. All you need is a small portion of christmas lights that you will place inside of the bottle. There are two ways you can hide the cord from the lights. The easiest way is taping it to the outside of the bottle, preferably in the back. If you are handy you can drill a hole in the lower back of the bottle! If you want to make one that looks like the bottle shown above you will need to go buy some stones, like the ones you put into a fish tank. You will super glue them too the bottle. If you want something easier and you like the label of your bottle you can just leave the outside as is or attach anything you think would incorporate well. If you don't like the lights being as noticable you can put crystal filling in the side, it gives it a great finished look.
